TIPSY TUESDAY: Bad Wine & Personal Theft Prevention — For Your Protection

Some of us went to the KABR Conference this past Saturday.  For those of us who chose not to go, we have not heard much about it…yet.  This is why we do not have a review of it.

Today we are gearing up for the Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits liquor tasting tonight (5:00 – 7:00 pm) in Mayetta, KS.  We hope to provide photographs of the food, the liquor, and the food, and of the good time.

Of the three liquor tastings we have been invited to this season, this is the last and we are looking forward to this one the most.  There will be a variety of beers, liquors, spirits, and wines.

And speaking about wines…

Fox News Article

We found this article, found it interesting, and wanted to share it.

Each tip has a few explanatory paragraphs underneath it, and the first two may not mean you have a bad bottle of wine.  We suggest you read the article in its entirety.  The three tips to spot a bad wine are:

  1. The wine looks, “off”.
  2. It smells, “funky.”
  3. The wine tastes…bad.

Make sure, if you do get good wine, to not drink too much.  ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings.  Do NOT get so inebriated EVER that you are no longer in control of yourself.  If you feel sick or sleepy after . . . or during drinking, that is not a good sign.  If you feel sick or sleepy DURING drinking, STOP DRINKING RIGHT AWAY.  Do not push yourself.  No good can come from it.  Believe us, we know.

And, even if you are 100% sober, make sure you still are VERY aware of your surroundings.

Case in point:

Stolen Wallet/LifeLock Article

This is a LifeLock article, ergo, the last tip is, “Sign up for identity theft protection,” BUT, we think the best tip comes right before it, “Make photocopies of your cards and ID and keep them in a secure place.

If you are like some of us here, and do not want to read all of the article (we typically screen things we post), scroll down for the bottom for the tips.  The main part of the article is how the author got her wallet stolen…twice.

Prevention & Protection Conclusion

And so we conclude another TIPSY TUESDAY post.  A few tips from us, but, mostly, the tips are from other sources this week.

We will let you know how the Tasting is.
